Stepping into this jewel of Mayfair, there is a decadence of Art Deco architectural detail with a hint of Uganda’s heritage. Located in a culturally diverse and deeply historical area of London, this project is narrated by vibrant subcultures.
Unifying the influences of art and fashion, the three bed apartment has been envisioned by bespoke design. Brass glass doors frame the kitchen area, keeping the living & dining areas focused on form over function. Minimalist organic furniture is curated as if they are pieces of art. The fluted Calacatta marble adorns the organically shaped bar cabinet and flows to meet a modern fireplace which is one of the many focal points. A bespoke rug mirrors the terrain of the black mountains of Uganda.
The neutral candy colour palette pops with rich Uganda tones. Ashen wood, with almost tiger-like stripe grain, clads the bespoke joinery of the bedroom. Custom designed brass accents adorn cupboards and tribal-inspired detail frames the bedroom mirror. Materials such as hand-painted resin, rock crystal, off-white gesso and eggshell add a tactile edge to the sleek and modern finish.
